Lake Kurilskoye is located on the territory of the Yuzhno - Kamchatsky Preserve which was included into the List of World Heritage in 1996. The lake has a volcanic nature. It occupies the volcanic caldera. The surface of the lake is 76 sq. km. The depth is 330 m. Two impressive volcanoes cones (Kambalny and Ilinsky) that frame the Lake create a captivating view.
The Geyser Valley was discovered only 60 years ago! This magnificent Valley is situated within the Kronotsky Preserve, a special nature preserve renowned the world over for its beauty and unique flora and fauna. Here you will see spectacular examples of hydrothermal activity - geysers and perpetual spouters, mud pots, thermopile algae, "dry" and liquid sulfur pools and slopes covered with geyserite sinters. The Valley of Geysers is hidden in one of the deep canyons of the Kronotsky Preserve, and is unseen from the rim.
